AmySohn.smallNOV 28th, 2012. Our first guest: Amy Sohn. Already a guest on Book Case TV (her episode to be broadcast on Nov 12th), Amy, a lifelong Brooklynite, will talk about her latest novel, “Motherland,” narrating the drama of the new Brooklyn culture, by following the lives of five fortyish parents. Her favorite joke: “I was born in the Height and now live in the Slope.” But do not be deceived, Amy has with a sharp dissecting eye and wicked sense of humor. Her work raises fundamental questions about our existence. How do we remain connected to the lives we have chosen? Is it really possible to have it all, or do we create our own problems no matter the circumstances?
Come and meet Amy Sohn in person, ask her questions about her creative process, her characters, their explorations of sexuality, unveil her choice of themes, and go home inspired.

MOTHERLANDsmallAmy Sohn is the author of the novels Prospect Park West, My Old Man, and Run Catch Kiss. She has been a contributor to the New York Times, The Nation, Harper’s Bazaar and Playboy. She has written for major television channels, such as HBO, Fox, and ABC.

Book Case TV is a TV program airing on NYC Life, Mondays at 9:30 pm. The program features authors from all walks of life, fiction and non-fiction, as well as personalities and stories from the publishing industry.
